The M4 toll plaza is located at Auburn. The toll is payable in both the eastbound and westbound directions and is based on the size of the vehicle.

Motorists who do not have electronic tags fitted to their windscreens should move into the left hand lanes well before they reach the toll plaza. Plaza lanes 1 to 6 are marked as either "CHANGE GIVEN" or "EXACT TOLL". These lanes will accept cash or Motorcycle Card.

You may pay the specified toll in the EXACT TOLL and CHANGE GIVEN lanes with the following preferred Australian denominations of legal tender:

• 5c,10c, 20c, 50c, $1, or $2 coins - $5, $10, or $20 notes.

Change may not be available for $50 and $100 notes if tendered.

The amount payable is displayed in the EXACT TOLL and CHANGE GIVEN lanes on a screen in view of the driver.

Receipt for payment of the toll

Receipts for cash payment of the toll are only available at CHANGE GIVEN lanes.

The most convenient way to pay the toll and have a record of your travel on the M4 or any other interoperable toll road in Australia is by having an electronic tag account. Your tag issuer will provide fully itemised statements of your travel, saving you considerable time and cost in reconciliation of expenses.

Note: GST legislation does not require a tax invoice to be issued for GST inclusive supplies costing less than $82.50.
