- RTA video cameras monitor many locations along the M4 for traffic control purposes.
- Up to and including 15 February 2010, SWR cameras monitor the toll plaza for the following purposes:
- security
- audit of the RTA Cashback Scheme
- toll enforcement, in the event of non-payment

For the purposes of collecting tolls up to and including 15 February 2010, depending on the circumstances, SWR may collect and retain information relating to:
- your trip through the toll plaza.
- your electronic tag number and account status.
- your name, address and vehicle licence plate number.
