Electronic Tolling on the M4 Western Motorway

Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) enables motorists to pay the toll on the M4 without the need for cash. The availability of ETC at a toll plaza lane is signified by the logo.

When you pass through an ETC lane at the M4 toll plaza a tag attached to your windscreen is electronically read and the toll is charged to an account you open with the tag issuer. The M4 is not a tag issuer, but accepts all electronic tags issued in Australia. Go to Contacts to get information on tag issuers.

If you claim Cashback, the RTA may monitor images of your vehicle taken by cameras located at the toll plazas for audit purposes.

The M4 provides two dedicated non-stop

express lanes in each direction. The speed limit in these lanes is 70kph. EXACT TOLL + lanes accept both cash and electronic tags.
